Fridays, we open the Larchives, Lar’s extensive archive of art work oddities, and share a few pieces.
LICD artist Lar DeSouza’s brilliant plan to exchange art for donations to his fundraiser for the MS Society continues! The January theme is Among Us. For an example, check out my avatar of Xenomorange. It’s based on my greatest Among Us kill.
My Greatest Kill
The first time I was the imposter in Among Us, I could feel my heart beating. I worried my nervous sweat would give me away to my wife, who I share a couch with when we play.
A month or so later, now a veteran of many Among Us sessions, I had one of those nights. I don’t know if this happens randomly or intentionally, but often the same person in a group gets picked as the imposter an improbable number of times in a row. Often, that happened to my wife. This time, it happened to me.
After a few games, my imposter jitters passed. I settled into my role, figured out the tricks, and knew how and when to kill.
Killing It
Electrical is an ideal kill room. There are three tasks in the room, two of which can’t be seen from the entrance. There’s also a vent out of view, so two Crewmates can enter, and by the time the second turns the corner, the first can be dead and I can be gone.
After following a Crewmate into Electrical, I killed him and escaped through the vent. As you do. I then went about my business pretending to perform tasks as I waited for my Kill cool down to lapse, or the body to be reported.
The cool down lapsed with plenty of time to get far away from Electrical for plausible deniability. And then more time passed. Then I did what every crime procedural says the criminal does: I returned to the scene of the crime.
I don’t know what I expected to find. A detective? A Crewmate that totally missed the body was there? Since my kill button was already back, I could stay in the vent and watch the body. That’s when Tina turned the corner and saw the body.
The Kill
In one fluid motion, I emerged from the vent and killed her. I heard her gasp. Then I returned to the vent and back to blending in with the rest of the crew.
