Frakking Ads

I honestly don’t think the online advertising industry could be any shadier if it tried to be, and trust me, it’s trying.

We signed up to a new network yesterday, and despite the shite Crypto ads, everything seemed legitimate and functional. Cut to this morning and I’ve got a hundred e-mails in my inbox about malware, pop ups and all sorts of shenanigans on the site.

After a few minutes of investigation, we shut down the network and we’re back to where we were before, ad free.

I stand by statements I’ve made a million times before, and that is I hate what ads do to a website, and if I could do without them, I would. Unfortunately, we need to generate a lil’ revenue and Ads are the simplest if inelegant solution.

All that said, we’ll be trying other networks in the days and weeks ahead, so if you do see something, please do let us know immediately.

At the same time, the old man and I are cooking up something fun for Patreon, because I’d much rather earn from that source than pepper the website with cock enlargement ads.
