Like the rest of you, I have alot of feelings and opinions of what transpired last night. As a global community, we all woke up this with a collective sigh of relief.
The one thing that stands out to me though, and that’s giving me the most hope for the future is this-
Elon Musk spent 500 million dollars and couldn’t move the needle.
The richest man on the planet used all his power and half a billion dollars and in the end, couldn’t defeat regular people at the ballot box.
While I believe that wealth inequality and the rise of Oligarchs here in North America are among the greatest threats to our future, last night proved that when people stand together, they can defeat a blank check with no moral compass.
Maybe tomorrow will prove me wrong, but today?
Today I’ve got a little more hope in my heart for the world we’ll leave behind for our kids.
