So I like hockey now.
I know, I know, the least surprising revelation to hear from a Canadian, one from the birthplace of Hockey, no less, but I’ve never been a sports guy. Enjoyed playing the games from time to time, but watching other people play it? Seemed as much fun as watching someone else play Battlefield.
Not for me.
Until the Habs made the playoffs this year.
Until my youngest son asked me to watch the game with him.
Until my other son, my daughter and my wife sat on the couch with us, all cheering our fool heads off for our home team.
Until I looked around my city, saw those stupid flags waving from their cars, everyone talking about it, being excited about it together-
It took me 47 years, but I finally got it.
And I like hockey now.
Go habs go.
