Little More Tube

You folks were quite helpful yesterday in pointing out a few series I neglected in my ‘Summer TeeVee’ post.

To rectify that, here’s a few more series I’ve been watching:

Tyrant, FX

I was drawn in by the concept of the show last season, but as the episodes went on, I became less and less interested in the characters.

However, I was still willing to give season 2 a shot, and 8 episodes in, this show is kicking my ass in the best possible way. They went in a direction that should have been obvious to me, but it caught me completely off guard and what was a story about a family out of their depth, quickly became a political and action series set in the current state of the middle east.

Excited to see where it’ll go.

Dark Matter, Scifi

I wanted to love this show, as I’ve been jonesing for a good space series since Battlestar Galatica ended in season 3 (IT ENDED IN SEASON 3). Interesting concept, but the low production values and slow but obvious character development forced me to bow out after episode 4.

Killjoys, Scifi

Same as above, but actually fun, I’m still sticking with the series. My only complaint is that the universe building thus far is pretty nonsensical, and hopefully they’ll find their footing shortly to create a galaxy with rules that make sense.

I think that’s all I’ve got, but again, let me know in the comments if I’m missing anything good!

Quote of the Day

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.”
