LICD: BEGINNINGS #693
TITLE BOX
In the title box, RAYNE walks into the kitchen.
RAYNE
Do you ever worry about disappointing me as you grow up?
NEXT PANEL, RAYNE pats DAD sadly.
DAD
I think you’ve got that reversed.
RAYNE
Because you’re not doing great.
NEXT ROW
DEN. RAYNE is watching TV when MOM comes in.
MOM
Your dad’s outside.
RAYNE
Tell him I say ‘hey’.
RAYNE doesn’t look away.
MOM
He’s shovelling the driveway.
RAYNE
It’s good for his heart.
RAYNE nods.
MOM
There’s a lot of snow.
RAYNE
Good things he’s out there then.
MOM sighs.
MOM orders RAYNE, and RAYNE starts to get up, middle surprised.
MOM
Go and help him.
RAYNE
Genuinely thought I could filibuster this.
