TITLE BOX
In the title box, MOM peeks in her head to let RAYNE know (RAYNE is not in the panel).
MOM
Your daddy is home!
NEXT PANEL, RAYNE is stuck to the window, staring outside waiting for DAD to come home, but pretending he doesn't care.
RAYNE
Whatever.
NEXT ROW
HOME – DAD'S ROOM. DAD is unpacking his suitcase from his trip, while RAYNE sits on the bed with BABY.
RAYNE
Question.
RAYNE asks his question.
RAYNE
If you enjoy giving someone a present, is it still considered a gift?
RAYNE
Or would you then be the one receiving the gift, and the recipient be the one giving it?
RAYNE looks at DAD Hopefully.
RAYNE
In which case, did I get you something on your trip?
DAD sighs, stops unpacking.
DAD looks up at RAYNE, and RAYNE nods his answer obviously.
DAD
Why don't you just ask me if I brought you a present?
RAYNE
Because you specifically said if I did, I wouldn't get one.
