TITLE BOX
In the title box, DAD is watching the news on TV, late at night, when he feels a presence.
NEXT PANEL, DAD turns to find RAYNE hiding behind the couch also watching TV, in his jammies.
DAD
Didn't I put you to bed an hour ago?
RAYNE
Not well, obviously.
NEXT ROW
INSIDE – KITCHEN. RAYNE is leaving for school in a t-shirt and shorts.
MOM
You might want to put on a jacket today.
RAYNE
But it's June.
MOM shrugs. RAYNE is defiant.
MOM
Doesn't make it any less cold.
RAYNE
It's June.
MOM chuckles as RAYNE walks out.
MOM
The weather doesn't answer to you.
RAYNE
Doesn't it?
Cut to later, with a feverish RAYNE in his bed, with MOM tending to him.
MOM
It doesn't.
RAYNE
It's warmer now.
