TITLE BOX
In the title box, RAYNE is playing with WEIRD AL in the playground. RAYNE is laughing at WEIRD AL, who is being silly.
RAYNE
You're weird, Al.
NEXT ROW
INSIDE – LIVING ROOM. RAYNE is watching the rain fall outside, as DAD is reading the paper.
RAYNE
A boy in my class said it rains because God is crying.
RAYNE
Is that true?
DAD puts the paper down, and looks at RAYNE.
DAD
What do you think?
RAYNE looks thoughtful.
RAYNE explains.
RAYNE
I think it's raining because water evaporates, then condenses into water droplets;
RAYNE
Clusters of the droplets are called clouds.
RAYNE
When water droplets grow heavy enough, gravity pulls them down as raindrops.
DAD smiles at his son proudly.
DAD
Then why does the boy believe it's God crying?
RAYNE
It's easier to assume that God is a giant crybaby than read an encyclopedia?
