In the Title Box, Dad is mowing the lawn as Rayne asks him a question.
Rayne: Dad?
Rayne: What’s the difference between self-confidence and arrogance?
Next panel, Dad stops the lawn mower to hear Rayne. Rayne shrugs, walks away.
Dad: Sorry, couldn’t hear you.
Dad: What was the question?
Rayne: Forget it. I’ll figure it out.
NEXT ROW
In the schoolyard, Rayne and Becker are sitting in the sandbox talking. Rayne is laying out his plan.
Rayne: First, I’m going to create a television show about a girl who makes poor hairstyle choices.
Continues.
Rayne: Then, I’ll make another show about a similar girl who’s a spy.
Continues.
Rayne: I’ll follow that up with 6 seasons of unlikeable people in purgatory.
Becker is skeptical, and Rayne looks at Becker like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
Becker: And then you think they’ll let you direct new Star Trek and Star Wars movies?
Rayne: Was there ever a clearer career path?
They both stop talking, as they realize another boy is standing right next to them, having listened to their every word. The boy is a young JJ Abrams and he’s holding a Bad Robot toy.
