Can’t Look Away
Word has it that Canada is facing a recession, along with federal elections in the fall. Despite that though, I find it nearly impossible to look away from what’s transpiring with our neighbors to the south.
Ie, the Trump Show.
I know, I know, I should look away. Ignore him and he’ll go away. Eventually, the voting public will realize he’s got no substance and the only thing he has to offer is cheap entertainment.
And for the most part, I’ve been able to do just that.
Until of course the polling data started coming in and showing just how well Trump is doing.
It’s no longer Trump that interests me, it’s the people that think he’s a good idea, the people who hear his intolerant and ignorant rhetoric and agree with it.
There are roughly 55 million registered Republican voters in the US. Given that Trump is polling around 23%, that means approximately 12,650,000 adults are digging what he’s dishing out.
1 Trump doesn’t frighten me, but almost 13,000,000 of him is giving me nightmares.
Because of them, this twitter troll has a legitimate shot at the highest office in American politics.
Here’s hoping Jon Stewart announces his candidacy at the end of his show tomorrow night. That’s the only way this ends.
