Lartful Friday – Hairy Situation
My first exposure to Asterix was in elementary school when we were shown an animated short at recess on a rainy day. In it, a Roman had infiltrated the Gaul camp wearing a fake beard to try to steal the Gaul hair growing formula. His attempts were thwarted by the traditional Gaul beard-tugging dance.
Every morning when I see signs of beard on my normally clean-shaven face, , or consider if my thick hair looks more like a Beatle or a helmet, I’m reminded of that cartoon. It also reminds me of Lar’s Asterix charity avatars!
If you have yet to order an avatar, Albert Uderzo inspired avatars are still available in exchange for $40 donations to their fundraiser. Instructions to follow!
Want to be a Gaul? A Roman? A Visigoth or Pirate? Here’s what you do:
- Go to tinyurl.com/mscure2020 now and make your donation of $40 (or more!)
- Send your donation confirmation along with a photo to (mailto:[email protected]) (Want more than one person? A group? A family? Just donate PER face)
- Send Lar a reference photo and what you would like to be represented as. A Gaul? A Roman? A Visigoth or Pirate?
- Sit back and wait in gleeful anticipation for Lar to send you the art by the end of the month!
Thanks in advance! Together we can cure MS!
