RAYNE holds up a pair of grey socks, that were knotted together, and cut, to look like an elephant trunk and ears. DAD Where are my grey socks? RAYNE I have a pair of grey socks. DAD's eyes go wide. DAD Did you cut them? RAYNE I'm going to be an elephant. DAD is angry. DAD Remember last night when you asked me if you could cut them and I said no? RAYNE Sounds familiar. DAD gestures. DAD And then what did you do? RAYNE I cut them. DAD sighs, sits down on the bed. RAYNE looks at him like he's not following along. DAD I'll comfort myself that though disobedient, at least you'll never be a sheep. RAYNE I'll be an elephant.
